Chris started in the electrical trade and spent years doing installation and service work. Over that time, he noticed something: strata managers were constantly struggling with electrical planning — they needed reports, they needed expertise, but they didn't need another vendor adding to their workload.

That's what led to CF Electrical Services. The idea was simple: bring the same attention to detail and reliability that Chris brought to every job site, but apply it to the planning and consulting side. Handle the complexity. Deliver accurate work. Make it easy for the people managing these buildings.

Today, CF Electrical Services is focused on exactly that. We're not trying to be everything to everyone. We do strata electrical consulting and we do it well — Electrical Planning Reports, EV Ready Plans, and project management for strata electrification projects, for BC strata corporations.

Chris founded CF Electrical Services and still sets the standard every report is held to. He pairs his hands-on electrical experience with the qualified specialists each engagement calls on — so the work that reaches your council reflects a current, working command of BC strata electrical planning: the capacity analysis, the utility data, the code, the rebate programs, and the plain-language write-up a council can actually use.

That means years in the BC electrical industry behind every file, plus a current command of the Strata Property Act requirements and BC Hydro's and FortisBC's rebate programs. Whatever your building type, you get one accountable point of contact on your building, from the first call to the final report.

Our difference

Reports written for the people who pay for them

Here is something we kept running into. A strata corporation pays for a technical report out of its own funds — an Electrical Planning Report — and what lands on the council's desk is dense and technical. Tables, code citations, and jargon are hard going for the owners and council members who actually have to read the report, budget from it, and explain it to the rest of the building. The report can be technically correct and still difficult for the people it was prepared for to use.

We think that's backwards. The report is your strata's document — paid for from strata funds, filed in your permanent records, and meant to be read by councils, owners, and prospective purchasers. BC's regulations spell out what each report must contain, but not that it has to be readable by the people receiving it. Compliance and clarity are two different things, and the regulation only requires the first.

That gap is where we built our practice. Every report we produce carries full technical accuracy and is written in plain language a non-technical council can understand and act on. The same technical rigour underneath; a document you can actually use on top. You should not need a technical background to govern your own building, and with our reports you won't.

What we do

CF Electrical Services is a strata electrical consulting firm. Three core services: Electrical Planning Reports (mandatory under BC strata law), EV Ready Plans (the route to BC Hydro EV charging rebates), and project management for strata electrification projects — EV charging, heat pumps, and other large retrofits.

How we work

We're your strata's technical planner and project manager. When an electrification project moves ahead, we write the scope, gather comparable quotes from licensed contractors, coordinate the rebates, and manage schedule, budget, and communication on your behalf — one point of contact from planning through completion.

Is CF Electrical Services the same company as other businesses called CF Electrical?

No. CF Electrical Services Ltd. is a strata electrical consulting firm based at 526 Clark Dr, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, working with strata corporations across BC. Yes. Our office is at 526 Clark Dr in Vancouver, and we work with strata corporations in every region of British Columbia: Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, the Capital Regional District and the rest of Vancouver Island, the Sea-to-Sky corridor and Sunshine Coast, the Okanagan, the Kootenays, the Cariboo–Thompson, and Northern BC. Every strata gets the same fixed-price proposal, the same property assessment and the same report, wherever it is. Does CF Electrical Services handle Electrical Planning Reports for every kind of strata building?

Yes: townhouse complexes, low-rise and wood-frame walk-ups, high-rises, mixed-use, commercial and bare land stratas. One team handles your report from the first call to final delivery: the fixed-price proposal, the property assessment, the BC Hydro consumption data, the report itself, the presentation to your council, and answers to your questions afterwards. For larger buildings, our engineering partner, registered with Engineers and Geoscientists BC under its Permit to Practice, directs, reviews, and seals the report, and nothing else changes for you.

Who signs and seals the Electrical Planning Reports CF Electrical Services prepares?

It depends on the building, as the Strata Property Regulation sets out. For a strata where every building on the strata plan is a Part 9 building (the BC Building Code's "Housing and Small Buildings" part), CF Electrical Services completes the report end to end, and it is signed by a Journeyperson Electrician on our team, one of the qualified persons the regulation lists for those buildings. For larger buildings, our engineering partner, registered with Engineers and Geoscientists BC under its Permit to Practice, directs, reviews, and seals the report, and nothing else changes for you. You deal with the same CF team either way. Is your strata a Part 9 building?
